Dr Kidd is a UQ graduate and has spent over 17 years in equine referral practice. Following an equine internship in Sydney and a Residency in Equine Orthopaedics at The Animal Health Trust in Newmarket, Lisa worked as a surgeon in private referral practices in Australia before serving 2 years as surgeon and manager of the equine clinic at UQ (in its old home at St Lucia). Lisa then worked as a surgeon for 3 years in two North American veterinary hospitals (Purdue University and The Ohio State University). This was followed by a position as senior lecturer and leader of the equine surgery service at Massey University in NZ.
Lisa recently completed a PhD on bone fatigue injury and stress fractures, and her research focus is in the area of equine bone disorders and navicular disease. Lisa’s clinical interests include orthopaedic surgery, colic, lameness and imaging.
